Scott Moulton Named Grizzlies' Women's Soccer Head Coach

FRANKLIN, IN -- Franklin College has announced the appointment of Scott Moulton as the school’s new head women’s soccer coach. The announcement was made today by Director of Athletics Kerry Prather.

“I am very pleased to have someone with Scott’s experience take over the leadership of our women’s soccer program,” said Prather. “He has coached at all levels and is well-connected in the greater soccer community.  I am confident he has the personal and professional skills to recruit well and to lead our program to a more competitive position in the HCAC.” 

Moulton has assisted Franklin men’s soccer coach Shaun Mahoney for the past two seasons. His previous coaching experience includes serving as head coach at Roncalli High School in Indianapolis for two seasons (2005-2006). During his tenure there, Moulton turned the program into a winning one. Roncalli achieved a sectional championship for only the second time in school history and posted a school record for most victories in a single season in 2006.

He also was an assistant coach for both the boys and girls soccer teams at Franklin Community High School from 1995-2000 and helped organize the Franklin Extreme Soccer Club in Franklin in 1994 and remained involved in coaching boys, girls and coed teams until 2000. Moulton has assisted with various soccer clinics and camps at Franklin, Seymour and Whiteland high schools.

“I’m really looking forward to coaching the women’s soccer team here,” said Moulton. “They have a lot of young talent and they seem to be motivated to get ready for next year. I can’t wait to get started.”

Moulton, a resident of Franklin, grew up playing soccer in England and began coaching the sport upon his return to the United States about 30 years ago. He served four years in the United State Marine Corps. Moulton is employed by the Federal Aviation Administration as an air traffic controller in Indianapolis. He and his wife, Coleen, have two children.
