Defiance’s Dillon and Anderson’s Kimmel to Represent School’s, HCAC at 2007 Aztec Bowl

December 5, 2007

WACO, TX – Defiance College’s Luke Dillon (Temperance, Mich./Missouri Military) and Anderson’s Denny Kimmel (Markleville, Ind./ Pendleton Heights) have been selected to the 2007 Aztec Bowl roster. The two individuals are among 50 NCAA Division III senior football players tabbed to represent the United States against Mexico at the Aztec Bowl to be held in Chihuahua, Mexico on December 8.

Dillon guided the Yellow Jackets to a 4-3 conference record during the regular season and was named co-Player of the Year on offense and also a member of the All-HCAC first team. The senior wide receiver led all conference receivers with 93 catches, 1,241 yards receiving, and 14 touchdowns. His 12 touchdowns in conference contests set a HCAC record. Dillon ranks sixth nationally with 124.1 receiving yards per game.

Kimmel helped guide the Ravens to a 3-4 mark in conference action and was named conference co-Player of the Year on special teams. He was named a member of the All-HCAC first team this season and ranks second nationally with 216.5 all-purpose yards per game. Kimmel rushed for 985 yards and added 318 yards receiving in his senior campaign. Kimmel totaled 10 touchdowns in 2007 and tallied 821 yards in kickoff returns as well for the Ravens.

These two great athletes will help the United States in its bid to improve on the 9-1 record it holds against Mexico in the annual series.

The Aztec Bowl is an annual season-ending series that has been played since 1947. The last ten contests have pitted the United States against Mexico.
