Two HCAC Athletes Named D3football.com All-North Region First Team

GREENWOOD, Ind. – The Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference has placed two athletes on the D3football.com All-North Region first-team. Defiance College wide receiver Luke Dillon (Temperance, Mich./Missouri Military) was selected a member of the first team offense, while Mount St. Joseph’s Alex Harbin (Cincinnati, Ohio/Elder) joins as a member of the first-team defensive squad.
Dillon guided the Yellow Jackets to a 4-3 conference record during the regular season and was named co-Player of the Year on offense and also a member of the All-HCAC first-team. The senior wide receiver led all conference receivers with 93 catches, 1,241 yards receiving, and 14 touchdowns. His 12 touchdowns in conference contests set a HCAC record. Dillon ranks sixth nationally with 124.1 receiving yards per game.
Harbin , a sophomore defensive end for the Lions, guided the Lions to a 9-2 overall record and an appearance into the NCAA Division III tournament. The sophomore totaled 42 tackles, 13 tackles for loss, 10.5 sacks, one interception, six pass breakups, and three fumble recoveries. These efforts also earned the sophomore first-team All-HCAC honors.
Five HCAC athletes were named second-team D3football.com All-North Region selections. Franklin College’s Chad Rupp (Jr., QB, Evansville, Ind./Memorial) and R. J. Hartsfield (Sr., RB, Salem, Ind./H.S.) join Rose-Hulman’s Reed Eason (Fr., TE, St. Louis, Mo./Parkway North) as members on the second-team offensive squad. The Engineers’ Paul Spreen (Jr., DE, Williams, Ind./Bedford North Lawrence) and Bluffton’s Sam McCullough (Sr., LB, Bluffton, Ohio/H.S.) were named a member of the second-team defense.
Five other HCAC players earned selections to the third-team D3football.com All-North Region. Franklin’s Greg McGing (Sr., G, Hammond, Ind./Morton) and Machy Magdalinos (So., K, Indianapolis, Ind./Warren Central) earned third-team offense honors, while teammate Roshawn Hill (Jr., CB, South Bend, Ind./ Adams) was tabbed a spot on the third-team defensive team. Defiance’s Keith Snyder (Jr., S, Martin, Mich./H.S.) and Mount St. Joseph’s Ricky Stautberg (Jr., CB, Cincinnati, Ohio/Elder) join Hill on the defensive squad.
The three All-North Region teams are selected by North Region sports information directors and D3football.com staff. The selections were made from 183 nominations from the Division III member schools of the region.
