Defiance’s Pettaway Placed on D3hoops.com Team of the Week

GREENWOOD, IN – Defiance College’s Anthony Pettaway (Toledo, Ohio/Bowsher) has been named to the D3hoops.com Team of the Week for the period from Feb. 11 to Feb. 17. The junior center has guided the Yellow Jackets to their second HCAC men’s basketball championship in school history (13-2) and will host the conference tournament next weekend.
The junior averaged 27.0 points, on 66.7% shooting, and added 12.5 rebounds and 2.5 steals per game in wins over Manchester and Transylvania. Included in his performances was a 27 point, 10 rebound effort in Defiance’s 64-59 win over Transy to clinch the HCAC championship.
Pettaway currently ranks among the HCAC leaders in scoring (16.3 ppg), rebounding (8.9 rpg), field goal percentage (60.8%), and steals (1.6 pg). The Toledo, Ohio native has posted over 20 points and 10 rebounds in his last six games.
He has also been named the HCAC December Player of the Month and has been named HCAC Player of the Week in men’s basketball twice this season.
