Hanover ’s Molly Martin Honored as HCAC Women’s Player of the Month

GREENWOOD, IN – Hanover College’s Molly Martin ( Terre Haute, Ind./North) has been named January’s Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Women’s Player of the Month. The freshman basketball center propelled the Panthers to a 4-3 record in January, including a third place spot in the conference standings.
In January, Martin averaged 16.3 points and 14.9 rebounds per game. The freshman recorded five double-doubles in seven games during the month and set a Hanover single-game record with 22 rebounds in an overtime loss at Mount St. Joseph. The Terre Haute native also tallied a 21 rebound performance in an overtime loss at Anderson.
Molly earned the conference’s Player of the Week award for the week ending January 27 after averaging 22.0 points and 16.5 rebounds per game in two conference contests.
Martin is the second Panther female athlete to claim the award and is the first Hanover women’s basketball player to earn the honor.
The HCAC Player of the Month award is in its third year of existence. The award is voted on by the sports information directors of each member institution.
