Transy posted wins over Bluffton and Hanover before knocking off third seeded Rose-Hulman to earn the championship at West Indy Racquet Club.

In Sunday’s championship match with Rose-Hulman, the Pioneers posted a convincing 5-0 victory. TU earned wins at No. 3 and No. 4 singles, while sweeping all three doubles matches. Freshman Collin St. Clair (Hartford, Ky./Ohio Co.) defeated David Becerra (Brownsburg, Ind.) of Rose-Hulman 6-2, 6-1 at No. 3 singles, while Kyle Clayton (Owensboro, Ky./Catholic) posted the fifth and final point with a 6-0, 6-0 win over Seth Hendrickson (Crawfordsville, Ind.).

In doubles play, Parker Gregory (Louisville, Ky./St. Francis) teamed with Clayton to earn an 8-4 win over the Engineer tandem of Scott Grubbs (Wildwood, Mo.) and Michael Schoumacher (Memphis, Tenn.) at the No. 1 doubles position. Lee Gammon (Chattanooga, Tenn./Baylor) and St. Clair were convincing at No. 2 doubles with an 8-1 win over Becerra and Alex Gumz (Palatine, Ill.).
