GREENWOOD, IN – Hanover College has earned the 2013-14 Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Women’s All-Sports Trophy. The Panthers picked up 69.0 total points in the all-sports race, securing the award for the third straight year and fifth time during the HCAC era.
The Hanover women’s programs won four conference championships during the academic year, earning the title in tennis, golf, soccer, and cross country. The Panthers placed second in basketball and indoor/outdoor track and field.
Transylvania University finished second in the women’s all-sports standings with 61.5 points. Franklin College finished third with 55.3 points and was followed by Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology with 53.5 points. Manchester University (47.8 points), Anderson University (41.3), Defiance College (39.0), College of Mount St. Joseph (32.0), Bluffton University (31.5), and Earlham College (19.0) rounded out the standings.
Lynn Hall, athletic director of Hanover College, serves as the top administrator for the athletic department.
There are nine women’s sports sponsored by the HCAC. The women compete in tennis, golf, soccer, cross country, volleyball, basketball, softball, and indoor/outdoor track & field. Teams earn points for their institution by placing in each sport's championship.
