Manchester’s Foster and Anderson’s Jarrett Named All-Mideast Region First Team by ABCA

ALLIANCE, OH –Anderson University’s Chris Jarrett (Hagerstown, Ind./H.S.) and Manchester’s Ty Foster (Danville, Ind./H.S.) have been named First Team All-Mideast Region by the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA).

Jarrett, a senior outfielder for the Ravens, earned first team honors after hitting .441 with 62 runs, 75 hits, 11 doubles, eight triples, 16 home runs, and 63 RBI.  The Hagerstown, Indiana native slugged .882 his senior season and posted an on-base percentage of .485.  Jarrett was named the HCAC Baseball Most Valuable Player.

Foster, a junior first baseman for the Spartans, was first team Mideast Region for his efforts.  Foster hit .406 with 49 runs scored, 15 doubles, 14 home runs, and 54 RBI during his junior season.  He added a .744 slugging percentage and a .458 on-base percentage on his way to a first team All-HCAC selection.

Anderson University’s Michael Tucker (Zionsville, Ind./H.S.) and Cody Young (Muncie, Ind./Delta) and Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology’s Tim Tepe (Cincinnati, Ohio/Elder) earned a selection on the ABCA All-Mideast Region Second Team. 

Rose-Hulman’s Chris Stemple (Mt. Vernon, Ind./H.S.), Anderson University’s Brett Detty (Indianapolis, Ind./Lawrence North), and Franklin College’s Alex Boone (Carmel, Ind./H.S.) have been named to the ABCA All-Mideast Region Third Team.

The fifteen players that earned ABCA first team recognition will advance to the ABCA All-American ballot which will be selected and announced this week at the NCAA Division III Baseball Championship in Appleton, Wis.
