Baseball Report (Week 4) - MSJ Sweeps Bluffton for 7th Straight Win

GREENWOOD, IN- Mount St. Joseph posted a 5-0 record during the week and has registered seven straight wins heading into play this week.  The Lions (10-7, 3-0 HCAC) earned non-conference wins over Marian and Wilmington before earning a three-game sweep of Bluffton over the weekend.

Junior shortstop Josh Denny (Huntsville, Ala./Flushing) paced the Mount offense during the five-game span, finishing 12-of-21 (.571) at the plate with six runs scored, three doubles, a triple, a home run, and five RBI. 

The Huntsville, Alabama native posted an on-base percentage of .571 and a slugging percentage of .952 during the week.

On the mound for Mount St. Joseph, Ben Hunterman (Cincinnati, Ohio/Oak Hills) tossed a complete game in a 7-0 win over Bluffton Friday. The senior pitcher tossed nine shutout innings in the win, allowing four singles and two walks, while striking out nine Bluffton batters. 

Hunterman also limited BU to a .138 average at the plate during the Friday contest.

Mount returns to the diamond Tuesday afternoon against Wittenberg before traveling north to Manchester for a three-game series this weekend.
