GREENWOOD, IN- The Franklin
College baseball team has put together a six-game win streak since
dropping four consecutive games the first weekend of April.
The Grizzlies (17-7, 7-3 HCAC) finished the week 4-0 in league
contests and moved within one game of first place Manchester in the
Freshman outfielder Scott Windler (Lafayette, Ind./Central Catholic) put together a solid week for the blue and gold, hitting .667 (10-of-15) with six runs scored, five doubles, two home runs, and five RBI.
The freshman hit two home runs with three RBI to help Franklin rally past rival Hanover 9-5 early in the week.
In Sunday's 12-11 comeback win over Mount, FC's Jesse Wilson (Seymour, Ind./H.S.) hit a grand slam in the bottom of the ninth to complete the three-game sweep of the Lions. It was Wilson's lone hit of the week, finishing 1-for-8 during three games of action.
On the mound for Franklin, Cody Nees (Cloverdale, Ind./H.S.) earned his third victory of the year in Franklin's 5-2 series opening win over MSJ. Nees tossed seven innings, allowing five hits and one earned run on his way to five strikeouts.
Franklin continues HCAC action this week as the Grizzlies travel to rival Hanover Tuesday afternoon. The blue and gold will close the week with a three-game road series at Bluffton Friday and Saturday.
