HCAC Pair Earns Spot on D3baseball.com All-America Team

GREENWOOD, IN –Anderson University junior catcher Michael Tucker (Zionsville, Ind./H.S.) and Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology junior designated hitter Derek Dauenbaugh (Bloomington, Ill./University) have been named All-America by D3baseball.com in results released yesterday.

Tucker, a junior catcher for the Ravens, hit .433 with 45 runs scored, 14 doubles, 16 home runs, and 66 RBI to earn first team status.  The Zionsville, Indiana native helped pace the high-powered Ravens offense, leading AU to the HCAC tournament and was named the HCAC’s Most Valuable Player.

Dauenbaugh, a junior designated hitter for the Engineers, earned a spot on the honorable mention squad.  The junior finished the season hitting .440 at the plate and added 33 runs, 11 doubles, three home runs, and 38 RBI.  The first-team All-HCAC DH led the Engineers to the HCAC tournament.

The All-American team consists of three teams plus honorable mention and was voted on by D3baseball.com staff, contributors and Sports Information Directors.
