GREENWOOD, IN- Anderson University remained at the top of the HCAC standings after going 4-1 last week. The Ravens (16-8, 9-1 HCAC) finished the week 4-0 in league action and fell to Purdue University 6-1 at Victory Field in Indianapolis in a non-conference affair.
AU defeated rival Manchester 11-6 and earned a three-game sweep of Hanover over the weekend, running its win streak to eight-straight in HCAC play.
Freshman Jacob Craft (LaPorte, Ind./H.S.) finished the week 9-for-20 (.450) at the plate to lead the Ravens. Craft scored three runs and added two doubles, six RBI, and three stolen bases to his stat line.
Senior pitcher Greg Vogt (Carmel, Ind./H.S.) led AU to a 2-0 shutout win over Hanover Friday. Vogt finished the contest with seven strikeouts and three hits allowed in seven innings of work.
Anderson will look to keep its one game lead in the HCAC standings when second place Rose-Hulman comes to town Tuesday afternoon. The Ravens will close the week against Wabash Wednesday and Bluffton over the weekend.
