GREENWOOD, IN- Earlham College saw its win streak reach six straight following a three game sweep of Kalamazoo over the weekend. The Quakers (6-2, 0-0 HCAC) outscored the visiting Hornets 36-8 during the opening weekend in Randal R. Sadler Stadium.
Earlham kicked off the series with a 7-0 shutout win Saturday and capped off the weekend with 20-6 and 9-2 wins on Sunday.
Senior designated hitter Ryan Hayes (New Lebanon, Ohio/Dixie) led the Quakers offense during the sweep. The senior finished 6-of-10 (.600) at the plate, scoring four runs with two home runs, a double, three walks, and six RBI, while posting a slugging percentage of 1.500.
Junior pitcher Nate Hube (Lebanon, Ohio/H.S.) started Saturday's 7-0 shutout win, finishing the contest with nine strikeouts and five hits allowed in seven innings of work. Hube improved to 2-0 on the season.
Earlham will host Robert Morris-Springfield for a doubleheader Tuesday afternoon.
