Derek Eitel, Rose-Hulman, Baseball (Pitcher)
Rose-Hulman's Derek Eitel (Marshall, Ill./H.S.) finished the week 2-0 for the Engineers and has been named the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Baseball Pitcher of the Week.
The senior pitcher went 2-0 with a 1.69 ERA and 19 strikeouts in 16 innings of work, leading Rose to two wins last week. Eitel allowed only nine hits and four walks, while holding his opponents to a .158 batting average.
In his season opener, Eitel struck out 13 during a four hit, complete game shutout against Thiel.
No. 19 ranked RHIT (5-1, 0-0 HCAC) welcomes Calvin to Terre Haute for a three-game series this weekend.
