Kirk Jesse, Defiance College, Baseball (Hitter)

Defiance College’s Kirk Jesse (Ney, Ohio/Fairview) fueled the Yellow Jackets to a 5-1 record in Port Charlotte, Florida and has been named the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Baseball Hitter of the Week. 

The senior center fielder finished the week 12-of-27 (.444) at the plate, leading DC to a 5-1 mark.  Jesse doubled twice, scored eight runs, drove in two runs, and stole seven bases during the week’s action.  The senior extended his hitting streak to seven-straight games to open the 2010 season and recorded three multi-hit performances during the week. 

His week was highlighted in a 9-2 win over Kenyon, going 5-for-5 at the plate with three runs, two RBI, one double, and two stolen bases. 

Defiance (5-2, 0-0 HCAC) will travel to Taylor, Trine, and Albion this week.
