Nick Maloney, Rose-Hulman, Baseball (Pitcher)
Rose-Hulman’s Nick Maloney (Cary, Ill./Cary-Grove) tossed a one-hitter in his only outing of the week and has been named the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Baseball Pitcher of the Week.
The senior pitcher allowed only one hit during a complete game win over Calvin as the Engineers won 12-1. Maloney allowed a solo home run in the first inning and held the Knights without another hit for the remainder of the contest. The senior walked two and tallied four strikeouts, while holding Calvin to a .045 batting average during the game.
No. 16 ranked Rose-Hulman (8-2, 0-0 HCAC) will travel south to Marietta and Muskingum for a pair of doubleheaders this weekend.
