Derek Eitel, Rose-Hulman, Baseball (Pitcher)
Rose-Hulman’s Derek Eitel (Marshall, Ill./H.S.) tossed a complete game shutout against No. 13 ranked Marietta last week and has been named the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Baseball Pitcher of the Week for the second time.
The senior pitcher allowed only three hits and one walk with eight strikeouts as the Engineers earned a split with a 2-0 win. Eitel held the Marietta offense to a .136 batting average during the victory.
Rose (11-3, 0-0 HCAC) is currently ranked No. 19 in the nation and will open conference play at home against Bluffton this weekend.
