Tyler Gallant, Defiance College, Baseball (Pitcher)

Defiance College’s Tyler Gallant (Lima, Ohio/Shawnee) earned a win in relief for the Jackets last week and has been named the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Baseball Pitcher of the Week. 

The freshman reliever finished the week with a 1-0 record and a 0.00 ERA in two relief appearances for Defiance.  Gallant earned a win in relief in Tuesday’s 5-4 win over Manchester and held No. 3 Heidelberg’s offense scoreless over 3.1 innings in a 3-1 loss. 

For the week, Gallant pitched 4.1 innings, struck out five, and held the opposition to a .231 batting average. 

Defiance (11-11, 4-4 HCAC) will travel to Earlham Wednesday before a three-game series with Anderson this weekend.
