Chris Bloch, Transylvania University, Baseball (Pitcher)
Transylvania University’s Chris Bloch (Louisville, Ky./Ballard) came within three outs of a no-hitter against Defiance Sunday and has been named the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Baseball Pitcher of the Week.
The sophomore lefthander tossed nine innings with six strikeouts, allowing one run and one hit in the complete game 9-1 win.
Bloch stands 4-1 with a 4.50 ERA this season.
Transylvania (20-13, 10-8 HCAC) faces Mount St. Joseph at Applebee’s Park in Lexington tomorrow before heading north to face Manchester this weekend.
