Ian Sanders, Franklin College, Baseball (Hitter)
Franklin College’s Ian Sanders (Decatur, Ind./Bellmont) helped the Grizzlies to a 4-0 record during the week and has been named the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Baseball Hitter of the Week.
The senior second baseman finished the week 7-of-12 (.583) at the plate as the Grizzlies defeated Rose-Hulman and swept Transylvania in three games to finish second in the HCAC standings.
Sanders drove in eight RBI with two doubles, two home runs, and eight runs scored during the week.
In FC’s 15-4 win over Rose, Sanders was 2-for-3 with two runs scored and three RBI. He followed that performance, going 3-for-3 with five runs scored, two home runs, and four RBI in Franklin’s 14-9 win over Transylvania over the weekend.
Franklin (26-12, 16-8 HCAC) earned the No. 2 seed in the upcoming HCAC tournament and will face Rose-Hulman at 3:30 PM Thursday afternoon at Manchester College.
