Darin Waterman, Defiance College, Baseball (Pitcher)
Defiance College’s Darin Waterman (Celina, Ohio/H.S.) led the Jackets to a 2-1 extra innings win over Franklin Friday and has been named the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Baseball Pitcher of the Week.
The sophomore pitcher tossed 7.1 innings, allowed just one run, and struck out five Grizzlies to pick up his second victory of the season.
After yielding FC’s only run of the game in the third inning, Waterman did not allow a base runner to reach third base over his final 4.1 innings of work.
Defiance (8-16, 1-9 HCAC) will face Manchester at Parkview Field in Fort Wayne, Indiana tonight.
