Football Report (Week 10) - Franklin Scores 21 in Fourth Quarter to Defeat Manchester

FRANKLIN, IN - Franklin College (6-3, 4-2 HCAC) ended a brief two game losing streak with a 28-21 come from behind win over Manchester College (4-5, 4-2 HCAC).  The Grizzlies scored three fourth quarter touchdowns to overtake the visiting Spartans on Senior Day, posting their 12th straight win against the black and gold.

The win also made Franklin's senior class the winningest four year class ever at FC with 35 victories.  The Franklin offense struggled against the Manchester defense most of the day and needed a crucial effort by the defense late in the contest.  FC managed only 252 yards against Manchester, while the Spartans offense struggled for 152 total yards.

Junior linebacker Adam Wheat (Aurora, Ind./South Dearborn) returned a Spartan interception 76 yards for the game-tying score late in the fourth quarter to swing the momentum back to the Grizzlies.

FC scored the game winning touchdown with just under four minutes to play when Logan Worley (Indianapolis, Ind./Warren Central) scored on a 27-yard touchdown run.  Worley led the Grizzlies rushing attack with 76 yards on 13 carries.

Manchester's offense was led by quarterback Justin Minnich (Ft. Wayne, Ind./Carroll) who completed 12 of his 21 passes for 100 yards, three touchdowns, and two interceptions.  He also paced the MC rushing game with 29 yards on 17 carries.

Franklin will close the season at Hanover in the annual Victory Bell game, while Manchester will finish at home against Anderson in the annual Battle for the Bronze Ball.
