Hanover’s Stewart and Mount’s Walsh Named D3football.com All-Americans

GREENWOOD, IN. - The Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference has placed two athletes on the D3football.com All-American team.  Hanover College defensive back Corry Stewart (Nashville, TN/Ryan) was selected as a member of the honorable mention defense, while Mount St. Joseph offensive lineman Anthony Walsh (Cincinnati, Ohio/Moeller) was selected as a member of the honorable mention offensive squad.

Stewart guided the Panthers to a 3-4 conference record during the regular season and earned a spot on the All-HCAC first-team. The senior defensive back set a Hanover and HCAC single-season record with nine interceptions for 138 yards and a touchdown.  Stewart also led the Panthers' defense with seven pass deflections and ranked fourth on the unit with 61 tackles, including 39 solo tackles and 22 assists.

Walsh guided the Lions to a 7-0 conference record and led the Mount to a conference title and berth to the Division III playoffs. The senior anchored the front line of one of the league's top offenses this fall and was a first-team All-HCAC member.

The HCAC duo was among 101 athletes to earn the honor.  The D3football.com All-Americans were named on Saturday afternoon during Amos Alonzo Stagg Bowl festivities.
