MINNEAPOLIS, MN – Just three days after being tabbed as the repeat Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week, Defiance College’s Kyle Longsdorf (London, Ohio/H.S.) was also named to the Team of the Week for the second-straight time.

Longsdorf tied an unbreakable NCAA record by returning an interception 100 yards for a touchdown that broke open a scoreless tie in the second quarter of DC’s 33-0 victory at Earlham. The London, Ohio, native also added six tackles, while helping Defiance to its first road shutout since 2006.

Along with earning back-to-back weekly awards from the HCAC and, Longsdorf continues to lead the conference while ranking fifth in the nation with 84 tackles through Defiance’s first six games. The senior free safety has also added 4.5 tackles for lost yards, 2.5 sacks, a pair of interceptions, five passes defended and one blocked field goal during his final collegiate campaign.

Longsdorf and the Jackets will look to stay hot on Saturday, when they host Anderson (2-4, 2-2 HCAC) at 1:30 PM.
