N. MANCHESTER, IN - Hanover College (5-2, 4-1 HCAC) outscored host Manchester College (2-5, 1-4 HCAC) 21-8 in the second half to pull out a 35-25 win on the Spartans’ Homecoming. The Panthers racked up 470 yards of offense in the contest to record their fourth straight win.
Junior quarterback C.J. Croft (Ft. Campbell, Ky./H.S.) completed 18 of his 33 passes for 250 yards, two touchdowns, and three interceptions. Croft also added 54 yards and a touchdown on the ground for HC.
Junior wide receiver Daniel Passafiume (Louisville, Ky./St. Xavier) hauled in eight passes for 100 yards and two touchdowns to lead all receivers.
Despite turning the ball over five times, Manchester’s offense totaled 378 yards against the Hanover defense.
Junior quarterback Justin Minnich (Ft. Wayne, Ind./Carroll) completed 23 passes for 243 yards and one touchdown despite throwing four interceptions in the loss. Minnich also led the black and gold rushing attack with 108 yards and two touchdowns on 17 carries.
Junior defensive back Brecken Kennedy (N. Manchester, Ind./Manchester) led the Spartans defense with 14 tackles and three interceptions in the losing cause.
Andy Dalton (Guilford, Ind./East Central) led Hanover’s defense with 15 tackles, one tackle for loss, and one fumble recovery.
Hanover will travel north to Bluffton to face the Beavers Saturday afternoon, while Manchester will face Mount St. Joseph in Cincinnati.
