GREENWOOD, IN - A pair of Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) football players have been named to the 2012 D3football.com Preseason All-American Team. Hanover senior wide receiver Daniel Passafiume (Louisville, KY) earned a spot on the 1st team offense, while Franklin senior offensive lineman Nick Schultz (Lowell, IN/H.S.) was placed on the 2nd team.
Passafiume will return to the field after missing all of the 2011 season due to illness. As a sophomore, the standout wide receiver set a NCAA all-divisions single-game record with 25 receptions against Franklin. The effort surpassed the mark of 24 catches set by NFL hall-of-fame receiver Jerry Rice and Chas Gessner.
Schultz earned a spot of the D3football.com All-North Region First Team last fall after leading the Grizzlies to the HCAC title.
The first full weekend of action for the 2012 season kicks off on Saturday, September 1.
