Franklin Will Host Washington-St. Louis in NCAA Football Playoff Opener

INDIANAPOLIS, IN - Franklin College will play host to Washington-St. Louis in the first round of the 2013 NCAA Division III football playoffs Saturday.

The HCAC champion Grizzlies (7-3 overall) will make their sixth appearance in seven years in the NCAA tournament  and will play host to the Bears (8-2) on Saturday, November 23.

Kickoff is set for noon EST.

Washington-St. Louis earned a Pool B bid and will be making the school's second appearance in the NCAA playoff field. The Bears claimed the outright University Athletic Association (UAA) Championship and ended the season with a seven game win streak.

Other first-round games in the Grizzlies' bracket include No. 1 seed Wisconsin-Whitewater (10-0) hosting St. Norbert (8-2); Hampden-Sydney (8-2) hosting Maryville (8-2); and Linfield (9-0) hosting Pacific Lutheran (8-1).

The NCAA Committee selected teams based on conference results and competition within an institution's respective evaluation region.
