Franklin's Kyle Linville & Defiance's Tony Sierra Earn All-America Honors

GREENWOOD, IN - Franklin College wide receiver Kyle Linville (Speedway, Ind./H.S.) and Defiance College defensive back Tony Sierra (Warren, Mich./Cousino) have been named to the 2013 All-America Team announced Friday evening by the website.

Linville, a senior wide receiver, earned first-team honors after finishing the season with 108 catches for 1,374 yards and 14 touchdowns.  The senior was also named one of the 10 finalists for the 2013 Gagliardi Trophy given to the most outstanding football player in NCAA Division III.

Sierra, a senior defensive back for Defiance, earned a spot on the third-team defense and was named the HCAC Defensive MVP for his efforts this fall.   The senior grabbed five interceptions with a NCAA Division III-best 26 passes defended.  Sierra also contributed 41 tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss, one sack, and one fumble recovery this season.

The HCAC honorees were among 103 athletes to earn the honor.  The All-Americans were named on Friday during Amos Alonzo Stagg Bowl festivities in Salem, Virginia.
