INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. --- Franklin College remains undefeated at the top of the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference football standings.
The Franklin College Grizzlies claimed a 45-24 win on the road at Manchester on Saturday. Franklin wide receiver Brad Bonomini hauled in a game-high seven passes for 164 yards and three first half touchdowns in the victory. The senior topped the 1,000 yard mark for the first time in his career, and Bonomini also recorded his sixth 100-yard receiving game of the season.
Grizzly kicker Carter Brown went 1-for-1 in field goal attempts and drilled all six extra point attempts in the Franklin win on Saturday. The freshman remained perfect in field goal attempts with his 25-yarder in the fourth quarter.
The Mount St. Joseph Lions traveled to Hanover and claimed a 19-15 win on the road over the Panthers last weekend. The Lions quarterback Chaiten Tomlin led the Lions with 128 passing yards and one touchdown. On defense, Jermaine Drake led the Mount with 22 total tackles, eight solo in the victory.
Despite the loss, Hanover recorded 332 yards of total offense and six sacks while Mount St. Joseph tallied 259 yards of total offense and two sacks.
Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology claimed a 35-6 victory on Saturday on the road at Defiance. The Fightin' Engineers tallied 468 total offensive yards compared to the Yellow Jackets 144. Rose-Hulman's offensive attack was led by junior Garrett Wight. The running back finished with 25 carries for 86 yards and two touchdowns in the win. Defensively, Matt Michalak recorded nine tackles, four solo, two sacks, and three tackles for loss.
Bluffton University picked up a 13-0 victory on the road at Anderson on Saturday. The Beavers defensive back Doniven Clark tied a school record with three interceptions in a game on Saturday. The senior helped the Beavers to their second shutout of the season, which is the first time Bluffton has posted two shutouts since 2012. Clark also recorded two total tackles and one pass breakup in the victory.
