Franklin's Bonomini, Bluffton's Zickafoose & MSJ's Porter Headline All-HCAC Football Selections

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. --- Franklin College's Brad Bonomini (Lawrenceburg, Ind.) has been named the HCAC Offensive Most Valuable Player, while Bluffton University's Isaac Zickafoose (Middlebury, Ind.) picked up the HCAC Defensive Most Valuable Player award for the second time in his career.

Mount St. Joseph University's Jerry Porter (Cincinnati, Ohio) was honored as Special Teams Most Valuable Player for the second time, while Hanover's head coach Matt Theobald garnered Coach of the Year honors. Anderson University's Elijah Smith (Indianapolis, Ind.) was named Freshman of the Year for his efforts this fall.

Bonomini, a senior wide receiver for the Grizzlies, has totaled 1,224 receiving yards this fall, ranking second in all of NCAA Division III. The senior led a Franklin offense that averaged 333.3 yards per game which ranks fifth on the NCAA Division III leaderboard. Bonomini also ranks in the top three amongst NCAA DIII averaging 122.4 receiving yards per game, while averaging 17.2 yards per catch and totaling 71 receptions and 11 touchdowns for the Grizzlies during his senior season.

Zickafoose, a senior defensive lineman for Bluffton, was a force for the Beavers defense this season. The senior tallied 63.0 total tackles, 49 solo tackles, and 11.5 sacks this season. Zickafoose also added 17 tackles for loss for a total of 65 yards and two forced fumbles during his senior season.

Porter, a senior kicker/punter for Mount St. Joseph, led the Lions special teams unit in ten games this fall. The senior led the conference with six field goals made out of 13 attempts with the longest field goal coming from 45 yards. Porter added 61 points overall for the Lions while also kicking 43-49 extra point attempts. The senior handled the punting duties for the Lions as well, averaging 38.3 yards on 37 punts during his senior season.

Smith, a freshman defensive lineman for Anderson, played in all 10 games for the Ravens this season. The freshman contributed 62.0 total tackles and averaged 6.2 tackles per game. The freshman added 47 solo tackles and 7.5 sacks during the 2018 campaign. Smith's 29.5 tackles for loss for 112 yards ranks third in the NCAA Division III leaderboard.

Hanover College's head football coach Matt Theobald has been named the HCAC Coach of the Year for the first time in his career as the head coach for the Panthers. THeobald led Hanover to a 7-3 record this fall and a share of the regular season HCAC title.  Theobald also led the Panthers to their first appearance since 2003 in the NCAA Division III Football Playoffs.

All teams are voted and selected by the nine conference head coaches.
