Brecken Kennedy, Manchester College, Football (Defense)
Manchester College linebacker Brecken Kennedy (North Manchester, Ind./Manchester) led the Spartans' defensive effort in a 20-19 win at Defiance and has been named the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Football Player of the Week on defense.
The sophomore recorded 11 tackles and added a tackle for loss, three pass deflections, and two interceptions in the win. Kennedy's second interception late in the fourth quarter sealed the Spartan triumph.
The Manchester defense limited the Yellow Jackets to 179 total yards and only eight first downs in the victory.
Manchester (2-3, 2-0 HCAC) will try and remain perfect in conference play at home against Bluffton Saturday.
