Anthony Sierra, Defiance College, Football (Defense)
Defiance College defensive back Anthony Sierra (Warren, Mich./Cousino) turned in another standout performance as DC beat Anderson 20-7 and has been named the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Football Player of the Week on defense for the second straight week.
The freshman tied the DC single-game record with three interceptions in the win, including a 27 yard return for a touchdown in the second quarter. Sierra's efforts helped hold the Ravens to 188 total yards of offense and just 12 of 33 completions through the air.
The Warren, Michigan native has five interceptions and two touchdown returns in the last two weeks of play.
Defiance (3-4, 2-2 HCAC) will battle Hanover Saturday afternoon.
