Brandon Wells, Manchester College, Football (Offense)
Manchester College running back Brandon Wells (Woodburn, Ind./Woodlan) led the Spartans' offensive attack in a 30-8 win over Hanover and has been named the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Football Player of the Week on offense.
The senior rushed for 68 yards and a touchdown and added 106 yards receiving with two more touchdowns in the win, snapping a 12 game losing streak to Hanover.
Wells broke the Manchester school record for career touchdowns (33), breaking Johnny Piper's record of 32 set back in 1932.
Manchester (4-3, 4-0 HCAC) welcomes unbeaten Mount St. Joseph to town Saturday in a battle for control of the conference championship race.
