Tyler Hopperton, Mount St. Joseph, Football (Defense)
College of Mount St. Joseph linebacker Tyler Hopperton (Walton, Ky./Simon Kenton) had a Mount and personal season-high 15 tackles in the Lions’ 33-28 loss to No. 19 Thomas More and has been named the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Football Player of the Week on defense.
The senior registered 11 solo tackles, four assisted tackles, four pass break-ups and a blocked extra point attempt in the contest against the nationally ranked Saints.
MSJ (6-4, 5-3 HCAC) placed second in the HCAC standings alongside Bluffton, Hanover, and Rose-Hulman.
