Austin Sweeney, Bluffton University, Football (Special Teams)
Bluffton University’s Austin Sweeney (Adrian, Mich./Whitmer) helped the Beavers to a 46-27 win over rival Defiance on Saturday and has been named the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Football Player of the Week on special teams for the second time.
The sophomore kicker connected on field goals from 39 and 24 yards as well as four extra points.
Sweeney booted eight kickoffs for a total of 459 yards (57.4 yards per kick) and ended the day with 10 points scored.
Bluffton (5-5, 5-3 HCAC) completed its best season since 2004 and placed second in the HCAC standings.
