Men's Basketball Report (Week 1) - Defiance Opens Season with 3-0 Mark

GREENWOOD, IN - Defiance College (3-0, 0-0 HCAC) stormed out of the gate this season with three wins, including the championship at the Adrian College John Dawson Invitational.  The Yellow Jackets earned a 17 point victory over Kalamazoo to begin the season and posted wins over Mount Union and Adrian to earn the title at Adrian College. 

Freshman guard Logan Wolfrum (Defiance, Ohio/Ayersville) led the DC effort against Kalamazoo, scoring a team-high 22 points and adding eight rebounds.  He led the team in scoring once again with 28 points and seven assists in a 13 point win over Mount Union. 

Defiance earned a 79-72 win in overtime over Adrian to cap off the week.  Senior forward Nick Sales (Barberton, Ohio/H.S.) netted 21 points and added six boards in the championship contest. Wolfrum added 16 points against Adrian and was named tournament MVP for his efforts in leading DC to the tournament crown.

Defiance will play in front of the home crowd for the first time Tuesday night as Ohio Wesleyan comes to town.
