Men's Basketball Report (Week 4) - Mount Moves to 2-1 with Win over Manchester


GREENWOOD, IN -The College of Mount St. Joseph (6-2, 2-1 HCAC) took advantage of a light schedule this past week and notched a win in their only contest. 

The Lions were dominant in a 81-64 home win over Manchester Saturday evening. MSJ shot a blistering 60% from the field against the Spartans and roared out to a 53-29 advantage at the half. 

Senior guard Michael Romes (Villa Hills, Ky./Beechwood) scored a game-high 23 points on 10 of 15 shooting from the floor and added a team-high nine rebounds in the victory.  Travis Huffman (Hebron, Ky./Conner) and Jacob Faust (Galveston, Ind./Cass) added 16 points apiece against Manchester. 

Mount has won four of their past five games heading into this weekend's trip to Florida.  MSJ will tangle with Nova Southeastern and Goucher down in Ft. Lauderdale Friday and Saturday.
