Men's Basketball Report (Week 12) - Defiance Clinches Spot in HCAC Tournament

GREENWOOD, IN - Defiance College (17-5, 8-5 HCAC) put together their first 2-0 conference week of the season and clinched a spot in the upcoming HCAC tournament.  The Jackets have won four of their last five games and hold the No. 3 spot in the league standings. 

DC opened the week with a 70-59 win at Manchester.  Kevin Tietje (Deshler, Ohio/Patrick Henry) was the leading scorer against the Spartans, scoring 12 points off the bench. 

The Jackets were impressive at home Saturday afternoon, knocking off Transylvania 71-64.  Logan Wolfrum (Defiance, Ohio/Ayersville) led the attack with 22 points and three assists, earning his second Player of the Week award. 

Defiance will try and remain hot down the stretch as Mount St. Joseph comes to town Saturday.
