Men's Basketball Report (Week 11) - Manchester Claims Third Straight HCAC Victory
GREENWOOD, IN - Manchester College (13-6, 9-3 HCAC) remains one game out of first place in the HCAC standings after a pair of league wins last week. The Spartans earned wins over Earlham and Mount St. Joseph and trails Anderson by a game in the race for the conference title.
Manchester jumped out early and defeated Earlham 75-57 Wednesday evening. Junior guard Jordan Moss (Columbia City, Ind./H.S.) led all scorers with 19 points on 8-of-9 shooting from the field, while also leading the black and gold with six rebounds. As a team, MC shot 51.8% from the field and only turned the ball over seven times in the win.
The Spartans earned a hard fought 83-78 win at Mount St. Joseph Saturday as the visitors shot a blistering 62.3% from the floor. Tyler Henn (Huntington, Ind./North) netted 26 points on 11-of-13 shooting and grabbed seven boards in the win. Moss capped off his solid week with 25 points, seven assists, and five rebounds in the important league win.
The black and gold will travel to Defiance Wednesday evening to try and sweep the season series with the Yellow Jackets. Manchester defeated DC 88-73 on January 2.
