Manchester and Hanover Set to Host HCAC Basketball Tournaments

GREENWOOD, IN – Manchester College’s men’s basketball team and Hanover College’s women’s basketball team each secured the top seed in the upcoming HCAC basketball tournaments.  The two schools will host all tournament contests next Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

Manchester locked up the top spot in the conference standings and clinched an outright conference championship this afternoon with a 79-62 win over Transylvania.  The title was the Spartans first outright men’s basketball title since the 1998-99 season.

The Hanover women secured their second conference crown with an 83-47 win over Earlham on February 12.  The Panthers ran away with the league title, claiming the regular season crown by a four game margin. 

The men’s and women’s tournament schedules have been set.  Friday’s action will get underway from Manchester and Hanover at 6:00 PM.  The men’s and women’s semis will be held on Saturday as the women play at 3/5:00 PM, while the men play at 5/7:00 PM.

Sunday will mark the championship contests as the men’s and women’s finals tip at 2:00 PM.

Tickets will be $5.00 per session ($4.00 for students and senior citizens).  Children under the age of 11 are free.
