Earlier in the week, TU handed Mount a 67-58 setback in Lexington.  Barrett Meyer (Frankfort, Ky./Franklin Co.) was the leading scorer for the Pioneers, netting 16 points on five of eight shooting from the field.

Transy will close the regular season this week on the road against Hanover and Bluffton.

In other action...

Hanover College (16-6, 12-4 HCAC) secured the No. 2 seed in the upcoming HCAC tournament after earning a split last week.

The Panthers posted a narrow 69-67 win over Anderson Wednesday and closed the week with a 51-48 loss at home to Bluffton.

HC finishes the regular season schedule against Transylvania and Rose-Hulman this week and will have a first round bye in the conference tournament in Lexington.

Bluffton (15-8, 9-7 HCAC), Rose-Hulman (15-8, 9-7 HCAC), and Anderson (13-10, 9-7 HCAC) can clinch a spot in the league tournament with a win in the final week.  The three schools all split their two conference tilts this week and hold a two game cushion over Defiance (11-12, 7-9 HCAC), Franklin (10-13, 7-9 HCAC), and Manchester (9-14, 7-9 HCAC) with two games remaining.

The top six teams in the league standings will earn a berth in the tournament field.

Tie Breakers for Seeding

1. Head to head competition. When there are multiple teams tied, this head to head process will apply the total number of wins and losses among these teams in an attempt to break the tie.

2. Competition against rank/order of regular season standings

3. The NCAA Quality-of-win-index

4. Win-loss percentage in-region

5. If these four steps do not break the tie then a coin toss or lottery will be used.

Tie Breaker Notes:

1. If the final standings have more than one tie then lower ties are resolved first

2. If there are multiple ties for a position the tie breaker process must start from the beginning each time a team is eliminated from the tie.

3. If there are more than two teams in an unbreakable tie than a lottery will be used
to determine the seed positions.

4. The commissioner will administer coin tosses or lottery draws.
