INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. --- Six men's basketball programs in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference sit with a 2-1 conference record on the team leaderboard.
Bluffton's Andrew Renner averaged 20.0 points per game last week as the Beavers defeated Earlham and Hanover. On Wednesday, Renner tallied a career-high tying 32 points at Earlham. The junior's buzzer-beater propelled the Beavers to an 82-80 double overtime victory. For the week, Renner added 6.0 rebounds per game and 1.5 steals per game in the pair of victories.
Hanover defeated Transylvania 76-70 on Wednesday before taking a loss on the road to the Beavers on Saturday. Against the Pios, three Panthers scored in double digits with Cam Fails leading the way with 22 points. Isaac Hibbard and Blake Robertson each added 14 points in the win.
Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology went 1-1 last week with a 70-55 victory at Mount St. Joseph on Wednesday and a 78-75 loss against Transylvania on Saturday. The Fightin' Engineers were led last week by Charlie Aimone, the senior averaged 18.0 points, 7.0 rebounds and a 56.5 field goal percentage per game.
In Transy's win against Rose-Hulman last week, four Transylvania players scored in double digits. Sophomore Devin Twenty tallied 17 points, seven rebounds and four steals to lead the Pioneers.
