Nick Sales, Defiance College, Men's Basketball
Defiance College senior forward Nick Sales (Barberton, Ohio/H.S.) netted a pair of 20 point games last week and has been named the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week.
The senior connected on 10 of 13 field goals, scored 25 points and added 13 rebounds in a 91-83 loss to rival Bluffton. Sales followed that performance with 20 points, five rebounds, and five steals in the Jackets' 61-57 win at Rose-Hulman.
The Barberton, Ohio native now has five double-doubles and five 20 point performances this season and is just 14 points and 62 rebounds shy of becoming DC's fifth player to reach 1,200 career points and 800 career rebounds.
For the week, Sales averaged 22.5 points, 9.0 rebounds, 2.0 steals, and 1.5 blocks per game, while shooting 63% from the floor.
Defiance (14-4, 5-4 HCAC) plays host to first place Anderson and Hanover this week.
