Mitch Schaefer, Manchester College, Men's Basketball
Manchester College junior forward Mitch Schaefer (Fort Wayne, Ind./Carroll) led the Spartans to a 91-76 win over Mount St. Joseph and has been named the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week.
The junior scored a season high 27 points on 8 of 11 shooting from the field, including 5 of 8 from behind the arc against the Mount. Schaefer added three rebounds, an assist, and a steal in the win over the Lions.
The Fort Wayne, Indiana product currently leads the Spartans in scoring, averaging 12.2 points per game this season.
Manchester (12-7, 6-4 HCAC) is tied for fourth in the league standings and will face Defiance and Rose-Hulman this week.
