Michael Romes, College of Mount St. Joseph, Men's Basketball
Mount St. Joseph senior wing Michael Romes (Villa Hills, Ky./Beechwood) helped the Lions close the season with two wins and has been named the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week.
The senior posted turned in a pair of 22 point performances as the Mount defeated Franklin and Rose-Hulman. Romes netted 22 points and nine rebounds in an 80-69 win over Franklin, and added 22 points and eight rebounds in a 69-53 win on Senior Day against Rose-Hulman.
For the week, Romes averaged 22.0 points and 8.5 rebounds, while shooting 63% from the floor.
Mount St. Joseph (10-14, 5-11 HCAC) finished seventh in the HCAC standings.
