Austin Weatherford, Rose-Hulman, Men's Basketball
Rose-Hulman freshman guard Austin Weatherford (Cicero, Ind./Hamilton Heights) led the Engineers to an upset win over Transylvania and has been named the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week.
Weatherford came off the bench and finished with a career-high 21 points on 7 of 9 shooting in Rose's 79-72 double overtime win over Transylvania Saturday. The freshman led the Engineers with 10 points in a non-conference loss to Wabash earlier in the week.
For the week, Weatherford averaged 15.5 points and 4.5 rebounds per game, while shooting 61% from the field and 89% from the free throw line.
Rose-Hulman (4-5, 1-2 HCAC) travels to Fontbonne Tuesday night and hosts Earlham Thursday.
