Barrett Meyer, Transylvania University, Men's Basketball
Transylvania University freshman guard Barrett Meyer (Frankfort, Ky./Franklin Co.) set a new single game record last week and has been named the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week.
In Transy's 92-63 win over Mount St. Joseph, Meyer set a new conference and Transylvania record by hitting 11 of 12 from three point range for a career high 33 points. He also added six rebounds, one assist, and two steals in the win over the Lions.
In TU's road loss to Manchester, Meyer followed up his record breaking performance by hitting six of nine from behind the arc for a team-high 18 points against the Spartans.
For the week, Meyer averaged 25.5 points and four rebounds, while shooting 81% from behind the arc.
Transylvania (9-7, 5-3 HCAC) will travel to Maryville (Tenn.) Wednesday and Bluffton Saturday.
