Austin Weatherford, Rose-Hulman, Men's Basketball

Rose-Hulman sophomore guard Austin Weatherford (Cicero, Ind./Hamilton Heights) helped Rose-Hulman achieve its best start since 2003-04 at 5-1 with a 2-0 conference mark last week and has been named the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Men’s Basketball Player of the Week. 

The sophomore led the Engineers in scoring and assists in wins over Franklin and Defiance.  Weatherford scored a career-high 22 points with five assists in an 84-78 win over Franklin and added 17 points, nine rebounds, and six assists in a 74-66 win over Defiance. 

For the week, the Cicero, Indiana native averaged 19.5 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 5.5 assists per game as the Engineers sit atop the league standings at 2-0.
