Men's Golf Report (Week 3) - Defiance Places Fourth at OSU-Marion Invitational

GREENWOOD, IN -The Defiance College men's golf team was the only HCAC squad in action last week.  The Jackets turned in their finest outing of the spring season on Saturday, taking fourth place in the 11-team OSU-Marion Spring Invitational.

Defiance's Jace Neal (Defiance, Ohio/H.S.) fired a 78 to lead the way for the Yellow Jackets, placing second overall in the individual standings.

The Yellow Jackets shot a 337 as a team for their second-lowest single-round score of the 2010 spring season. The fourth place team finish was the best for the squad this season and put Defiance just eight strokes back of Akron Wayne College for the top score.

This weekend, DC will play host to Anderson, Franklin, Hanover, Mount St. Joseph, Rose-Hulman, and Transylvania at the Defiance Invitational on Saturday and Sunday.  The event will be held at Kettenring Country Club, which will also be the site of the third and final round of the HCAC Championship on May 1-2.
