Men's Golf Report (Week 3) - MSJ Leads HCAC Field at Rose-Hulman

GREENWOOD, IN - Rose-Hulman welcomed four HCAC schools to Terre Haute for the nine-team Rose-Hulman Invitational this past weekend.  Mount St. Joseph was the highest finishing league school at the meet, finishing seven strokes behind champion DePauw.

Mount freshman Phil Gilmore (Wilmington, Ohio/H.S.) shot a pair of 79's to finish with a two-day total of 158 and a second place finish.  As a team, MSJ totaled rounds of 319 and 331 to finish with a second place 650.

Hanover College placed fourth overall at the invitational, firing a total of 675.  Junior Will Taylor (Owensboro, Ky./H.S.) paced the Panthers with a seventh place finish, carding rounds of 79 and 82.

Host Rose-Hulman finished 34 shots off the lead and placed fifth in the team standings.  RHIT's Cliff Parsons (Petersburg, Ind./Pike Central) finished alongside MSJ's Gilmore in the individual standings with two rounds of 79.

Anderson University also competed at the match, placing eighth overall with a total of 701.

In other action, Transylvania posted a fifth place finish at the SEKI/MSC Invitational in London, Kentucky.  Junior Justin Tereshko (Madison, Ind./H.S.) placed seventh overall with a two day total of 149 (71-78).

The men's golf squads will return to the course this weekend in the final tune up before the first and second rounds of the HCAC Tournament in Lexington on April 16-17.
